Speak Out Loud, a videoproject for college

In this one minute video, I wanted to draw attention to a controversial topic that is very current in the media today: harassment. There are a lot of different ways to look at the issue: from women being approached in an unacceptable way at the office floor or in the streets to people being bullied and treated in an improper way in public environments. The video covers these issues at first in a silent and suggestive way without any narrative. It closes with a freeze image of the different situations and at that stage the victims speak out loud and say ENOUGH! The message is that nobody should allow being treated like this.

Behind the scenes

This video project was realised by a diverse group of people. It turned out that we were very complementary. Each of us had different ways of looking and reflecting on the project. From the brainstorming on the creative concept, the scenario writing, the actual filming, editing and post-production, we had lots of fun. We have tried to capture the emotions that come with harassment. Great care went into credible acting and into setting the right tone for the music and scenery. In only 4 days, this was the final product that we have realised.
